Should flowers be sent to the family's home or to the ceremony venue?
To the home if you are not attending the funeral service: a bouquet can be placed in a vase and will accompany the family in the days that follow. To the ceremony venue if you are present, in the form of a wreath, sheaf, or cushion arrangement. A wreath, mounted on an easel, is not suited to a home setting.
Can flowers be sent after the funeral?
Yes, there is no time limit. A bouquet received two to four weeks after the ceremony is especially appreciated: it arrives when loved ones have dispersed and the family finds themselves alone.
What should be written on the condolence card?
Two or three sincere sentences are enough: acknowledge the loss, say something about the deceased or the family, and offer concrete support rather than general availability. Sign clearly and indicate your relationship to the family. A handwritten card is included with every delivery.
Must flowers always be white?
No. White and green are the default choice and are always appropriate, especially if you don't know the family well. Pastels convey a gentler tribute, and bright colors are entirely fitting for a civil ceremony or for someone who loved such flowers. Only chrysanthemums should be avoided when sending to a home: they remain associated with cemeteries and All Saints' Day.
Bouquet or orchid: which to choose?
A bouquet lasts 5 to 8 days and accompanies the first week, when the family is surrounded by loved ones. An orchid blooms for several weeks to several months and extends the tribute well beyond the funeral. Choose an orchid if you want your presence to endure after others have paid their respects.
How much does a condolence bouquet cost?
From €45.90 to €120 depending on the size. Budget €45.90 for an entry-level bouquet, €60 to €70 for a fuller arrangement, and €120 for an orchid. The price depends on the number of stems and seasonal varieties. A message card is included with all our deliveries.
Can a condolence bouquet be sent to a colleague?
Yes, this is common practice when a colleague's loved one passes away. A simple bouquet delivered to their home, accompanied by a card signed by the team, is the most appropriate format. For a delivery on behalf of a company, see our business catalogue.
